Welcome to the Westwood Surgery website. We are a traditional family practice, set in fully modernised premises and providing a complete range of general medical services. We currently employ four full-time doctors, a nurse practitioner, a healthcare assistant, two practice nurses, a health visitor, a community midwife and a team of district nursing staff.

Drs Peter Fish and Jhumur Datta have worked together in partnership since 2011; we have two branches, the Westwood Surgery in Welling and the Pickford Surgery in Bexleyheath. For further information about the Pickford Surgery, including opening hours, please click here.

Please be aware that on the second Wednesday of each month the Westwood Surgery will be closed from 13:00-15:00 to allow for a staff meeting.

The practice now offers electronic prescriptions to a pharmacy of your choice. Click on Prescriptions on the left hand-side to find out more.

Registration

If you live in our practice area and wish to register as a patient at either of our surgeries then we need certain informations from you and each member of your family so as to be able to trace your previous medical records.

Please come to the surgery with your NHS medical card from your previous GP, proof of ID, proof of your current address and a completed registration questionnaire.

If you do not have an NHS medical card (for instance, if you have just arrived in the UK), or if you cannot find it, you are still able to register with us but it may take longer to locate your previous medical records and you will be required to fill in more paperwork.

Please note that we cannot guarantee registration as you may not fall into our catchment area.

If you are staying in the area for less than 3 months, e.g. with friends or family, then you can be seen by a Doctor if the need arises. This is usually free of charge apart from certain cases where the individual lives abroad (this applies mainly outside the EEC); in these circumstances a fee may be charged.
