Appointments

All consultations with the Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Visitor and Midwife are by appointment only. Please do not come to the surgery and ask to be seen without an appointment, as this simply causes delays for other patients.

Whilst the Doctors try not to keep patients waiting beyond their appointment times, please remember that occasionally they may have to make an urgent visit to someone at home, or attend to other urgent matters, and thus the Doctor may not available to see you straight away. If a patient has arrived to see the Doctor and is particularly unwell then the Receptionist will ask the Doctor see him or her as soon as possible.

Staff try to be as helpful as possible in giving patients suitable appointments, to suit their needs, and we use a computerised system to manage all appointments. If you want to see a particular Doctor (your "usual" Doctor) rather than simply whoever is on duty, then you may have to wait several days. If you need to see someone sooner, then you may well have to see whichever Doctor is available. Remember also that the Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses may be able to deal with less serious conditions and that it may be quicker to make an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse than with the Doctor.

We also have telephone consultations available, where your details will be taken by a receptionist, and the GP or Nurse Practitioner will ring you back.

Appointments can be booked by telephoning the surgery, in person at the reception desk, or online. If booking online please read the instructions first.

Please cancel any appointments which you no longer need as soon as possible by telephone or in person.  Alternatively you can now cancel an appointment through this website so long as there is at least one working day's notice - this will enable the practice staff to re-allocate the appointment.
